So as we are at years end, today we take a “circumspective” look at our church. We look behind – at what we have accomplished this past year. We look around – at what we have been doing, and then look ahead – to next year and forecast what we as a church can accomplish as we continue to do the “work of the Lord.”
Why is this important now? I wholeheartedly believe we have reached the period in church history called the “laodicean” church period. This period is the final period in history that is defined by the 7 churches in Revelation 2-3, and John described this period in this way:
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
